49erSteve et al, Re: Schwab IPOs, Internet Explorer 5 and Prospectus Downloads WARNING: Downloaded and installed the new IE5 Browser and tried downloading the Critical Path prospectus from Schwab's IPO site. Apparently, Microsoft didn't get the tie-in together allowing a PC to automatically open a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file. Tried many times to no avail, even after reinstalling Acrobat. Tried on my other PC and had same problem. Reinstalled IE4 and the PDF file opened with no problem. THEREFORE, If you are interested in Schwab IPOs DO NOT download IE 5 until this bug is worked out, as you will be unable to open PDF files from Schwab, will not have a prospectus, and will not be able to participate in their IPOs.
