CSC aims for 18-20 pct Asia sales growth

SINGAPORE, March 23 (Reuters) - CSC Computer Sciences International Inc (CSC) wants sales from Asia to grow by 18 to 20 percent a year, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt said on Tuesday.

''What we want to do is to grow in this market 18-20 percent a year,'' Honeycutt told a news conference in Singapore.

He said Asia's economic recovery would be partly driven by IT, which would help boost sales.

Earlier this month CSC increased its presence in Asia by raising its stake in Singapore-listed IT services firm CSA Holdings Ltd to 73.6 percent.

It had previously held about a 36.7 percent stake in the firm.

CSC is an information technology (IT) outsourcing, consulting and systems integrator.

Honeycutt was in Singapore to talk about his plans for the CSC/CSA partnership and was scheduled to give a speech on Friday to IT industry leaders in the city-state.
