Sir Francis, You should look at "Da Slinger". "Da Slinger" is an order entery front-end for Datek. While it has some other interesting features, it has two features that may meet your requests...

First, when you open a "Da Slinger" page, the OE interface is in a frame at the top and Datek pages are displayed in a frame at the bottom. When you enter an order or some other action (portfolio, daily activity, etc), the OE interface REMAINS displayed in the top frame, while the Datek pages are refreshed in the bottom frame.

Second, it has a set of option buttons called "Refresh/Stop Refresh". After entering an order, you click the "Refresh" button. Then, in the bottom frame, Datek's Open Order Status page is opened and refreshed about every 8 seconds. When you see that your order has filled, you click "Stop Refresh". About the only downside is that 8 seconds may seem like a lifetime when you are in volatile, fast-moving stock. :-)

It works pretty well. Until Datek or Quote.com comes up with a better OE module for Datek, I'll stick with it. Here's their DaSlinger's URL:

sapphirebay.com.

Regards,

Dan.
