To *AV* - Can you stand to accept another "Thanks"?
Thanks for starting a new thread with some sanity. I repeat the wish and desire others have made to keep egos and personalities off this thread, as it serves no good purpose.
In early January I found the thread called "the picks". As a novice investor (not very successful ... yet) I thought it might be educational to follow this thread and learn more about how the market works, as well as pick up some good, sound investment advice. I'm not a believer in get-rich-quick schemes, so I'm very skeptical when someone taunts quick money-makers. I prefer safer long-term investments, but I also don't mind a short-term risk now and then.
What I found on "the picks," instead of an education in the stock market, was an education in human psychology. The only stock market education I did find came from those who, like yourself, openly shared not just their "picks", but the facts and research to back them up, and refused to get involved in the egotistical grandstanding. I would really like to see this thread maintain the current trend of good-natured exchange of information and ideas.
I just wanted to express my appreciation to you for starting this thread, and to you and all the others here who are providing me on-going training in the methods of the market. I'm glad I found you again. I certainly have a feeling that there are many more of us "lurkers" out there who would like to benefit from your expertise and maybe make some extra bucks. I'll be lurking in the shadows, maybe popping in with a question now and then, all in the interest of my own education.
