Yahoo, Alta Vista etc. don't allow you to do a layered search. Infoseek has a wonderful feature - a button that says "Search within Results". That way you can put in a word that is bound to be important - and get a million hits. A second search term narrows it.

The big problem with search engines is that if you put in two words - like "bass boat" - it'll search everything that has "bass" OR "boat" in it somewhere. The above lets you narrow it down to entries which have "bass" AND "boat" in the same hit. Then you can search a third time on "orlando" and either get Florida or the TNN guy. :-)
