Poet, just briefly on the options for now and then more later--but regards "don't they cancel each other out?" It can work that way,and there is no loss, but it also can work such that you make a major profit, all you need is a major rise in either the puts or calls--and dump the loser---in the REV straddle,if the merger happens I make a major profit on my calls relative to my loss on the puts, but if the merger does not happen,I will then still glean a profit as the puts become much higher in price relative to the calls--and so on and so on:)Max---- My best stock this week has been BII.TO,up 3 &1/2 points--but am going risk holding--so profits thus far just on paper.
