It's easy to acquire big margins when inventories that cost "X" to manufacture, are written down by a factor that is any part (or all) of "X". Most of the selling price then flows to the bottom line.
It's becoming a common scam.

MU's numbers smell to high heaven. The company's bean counters need to take some accounting lessons from Louis. (g)
