Jorj, I agree with your point. In hindsight this has worked out to be the case. At the time of the acquisition, CSCO was touting the ATM/FR technology, ATT switch-a-day pace and emerging backbone business as the reason for spending what at the time was a significant amount of $. If what they have today in the multiservice space is a direct result of that acquisition (or a large component of it), then it should be considered a successful acquisition. I do not know as much about stratacom's non-atm/fr switch products.
