In answer to your question, the Canadian Commitment to Kosovo is 6 F-18's, of which 4 took part in the first wave.

C'est Tu. Think about this, there are more Fighters on ONE American Aircraft Carrier then the entire Canadian Armed Forces.

The only Country with the fire power to even contemplate this kind of response is the USA. Nobody else on the planet can even come close to matching the US Forces.

Europe by itself would not have the political will to launch a attack on the Serbs. This is a US action and NATO is "Taging along for the ride" because they are backed into a corner with 4 years of negiotions with the Serbs which have had little or no success.

The Muslim people are being wiped out in Kosovo by the Orthodox Christian Serbs. The Russians, also Orthodox Christian, and probably feel like they should help there brother serbs but are powerless to do anything considering they can hardly feed themselves, but it could be a big problem if Russia tried to directly or indirectly help.

This action started today, could only happen with Major US support, and might have other political implications like trying to win the support of friendly Muslim states for other objectives. This is the Worst kind of War, religious.

If the US and NATO did not act in Serbia, but still insisted on drawing a hardline with Iraq I am sure that would not sit well with the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia recently banned US jets from launcing air strikes on Iraq from Saudi Bases, and the US has a serious PR problem in many Muslim countries.

Thats the way I see it...Add political support from Muslim countries to the list of reason why this is happening.
