I don't think the situation is so dire, but even if I did, I still prefer thinking that we live in a universe where moral values are fundamental, rather than transient and practical, that the Creator meant for there to be justice in the end. By the way, Kant says that the reason to believe in God is that we care about justice, and see that it is not meted out in this life, and therefore should posit that there is a Just Judge in the next, to affirm our belief on the ultimate triumph of justice...
