Ron, it all depends upon the degree of commitment that the Serbs, and not just their leadership, have to persist in the face of such a confrontation. Hitler was prepared to back off on the re- militarization of the Rhineland and the annexations of Danzig and Czechoslovakia, and Western inaction emboldened him to regard us as decadent, and gave him credibilty with his people. It is possible that early action would have stopped WWII. Maybe it is right in this case too...
