Maurice,
Welcome to the real world, both Ericsson and Qulacomm were playing this to the hilt..it's called business. Qualcomm are winners, but then we do not know the price yet, but I bet you got a good deal. Ericsson have just leap frogged the entire industry in one "fowl" swoop!
It will be interesting to hear Lucent's, Motorola's and especially Nokia's take on this. Nokia might feel they have just been sold down the river.
From the Ericsson perspective, the deal is a winner. You keep mentioning WCDMA as a no win, but you failed to recognise that they will still sell it...the deal means that Ericy has the whole mobile solution...so anything for anyone...surely that's a big win for the Ericy boys?
As always predicted, there are two winners...strange, but at first glance true.
The usual comments will come out from both camps that they always admired each others technology and business, etc...
Maybe we will even hear from Gregg Powers now that the deal is done...I'm sure that was why he has not been around for some time.
So Maurice, what did you tell us? Nothing about the technology, the argument has always been about business.
I love you all, even the Q! (Even I can be 2 faced, today!!) |
