Frontline Communications to buy iShop.com PEARL RIVER, N.Y., March 24 (Reuters) - Internet service provider Frontline Communications Corp. (Nasdaq:FCCN - news) said Wednesday it plans to buy iShop.com, an e-commerce company that owns sites such as iShopBeverlyHills.com. The Los Angeles-based iShop.com would become a subsidiary of Frontline, which has signed a letter of intent to buy the company. ''I was impressed that channel iShop.com wasn't trying to be all things to all people,'' Stephen Cole-Hatchard, Frontline's president and chief executive officer. ''Channel iShop.com is focused on building destination-based shopping sites.'' Frontline will combine channel iShop's distribution network with the initiatives of WOWFactor, a Frontline e-commerce subsidiary that provides Women on the Web with business services. WOWFactor is expected to leverage the distribution network of its partner Business Women's Network when WOWFactor re-launches its site next month. Frontline provides Internet access in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and plans to extend its reach through acquisitions.
