Interview with SONY CEO in today's Fortune (print version) included the following (may be old news to the techies here): "One reason the market potential for PlayStation II is so big is that it can become a natural extension of the Internet. Such a machine will eventually create new kinds of entertainment software. The PlayStation II will be a new kind of computer: Our new processor chip and the 3-D graphics chip for this machine are much faster and more powerful even than Intel's new Pentium III..." PlayStation II will be out next winter. Could certainly see some applications for PCTR here.
