You may have a point John, but consider this when estimating fuel usage rate of the Defense Department. Our boys who fly the planes get plenty of practice. This is why so many missions but so few losses in the air. The tempo of which they train is intense. These short sorties to drop their payload are not significant in terms of fuel usage.
The threat lies in the fact that Russia has indicated that they condemn our actions and will take actions to thwart our efforts. This in itself has ominous ramifications.
Of even bigger concern is that pictures were released recently that show missile sites in Iran. Next to each launch silo is a chemical decontamination building. Wonder what kind of missiles are in there?
