I've noticed that everyday in the first 45 min approx. 2+ mill shares are bought on UPticks of sometimes as much as 1 point (as today) .... then normally after this initial rush CPQ retreats about 1/2 the gain before it settles into a 'normal' trading pattern.

This leap UP, then retreat seems to happen most days.

What is the logic, strategy or thinking for this to occur ?? ... I would think that these BIG buyers would understand CPQ's early-day pattern and wait until it settles down to buy
