BobInBush: Analysts use the media to manipulate stock prices. If they have a large client wanting to get in during a Bull run ,they downgrade the stock a notch to facilitate entry for the day. Then when it they want to sell at the Top they up the ante after notifying their clients to exit. When a stock has been sold off due to an earnings pre-announcement, they drive the price even lower by downgrading it. This facilitates entry by their clients at the lowest level. Gambling , Manipulation and trading are now all embedded in the so called term Investing.
