Morning X,
I have been trying to drag someone to Pleasantville for weeks; not even Ammo the Addict will go with me. Probably because of the title--no self-respecting horror movie fanatic would voluntarily see a movie called Pleasantville. From the clips I saw, I'll guess the dubious moral message may be to break out of your rule-bound existence and follow your emotions? A mixed one at best for teens who are struggling to impose acceptable limits for themselves on their heaving hormones, anyway.
I spent last night finishing The Good Mother. Was not pleased although Miller is a good writer. Felt little empathy for the characters- they all made me mad. Except Ursula---liked her.

Am now off to the UIL high school play festival which should provide some interesting theatrical moments. ONe of the schools is doing a condensed 40 minute production of 1776..I assume with no music. I figure it will go about like this-
Congress enters. SOmone says, "Let's have a revolution!"
Chorus of assents--- a few boos.
Adams says,"Slavery is bad. Put that in."
Rutledge says, "No way. Tobacco to rum to slaves, you hypocrite."
Adams blushes: "OK, we'll put that issue off for a few years."
Hancock: "Great! Let's have a vote!"
"AYE AYE AYE AYE!!!"
"nay-nay-nay"
"The Ayes have it! Sign here!"
The end.
