I agree with that. Do derivative trading operations do much due diligence on counterparties? I'm sure there are "no way" lists or "limit exposure" lists. But does it get the emphasis it should? If not your point about LTCM is totally valid...moral hazard issue here as what should be proper due diligence is only a cost center if everyone is too big to fail. Sorry if there are too many questions flying at you, but this is very interesting to me :-)
