OK let me correct that straight away: I think the Quidel story sounds very good... but I haven't done any research beyond reading press releases as my portfolio already has 10% in medical/biotech and that's all the exposure I need for now. If I had less than that it is a company I would investigate further: the position looks strong but I would need to be satisfy myself on potential future earnings as with any stock.

My post was purely an attack on Howard whose ethics are extremely dodgy. It is unfortunate for you that he has chosen QDEL to Major on (pun intended, Howard is a Major in the US Navy) as it clouds the discussion, probably in a negative way. I'm sure you don't want a stock you own wrongly featured in an 'Internet Scam' story somewhere, in which case you are better off without him.
If I do become a stock holder over the next few weeks I willlet you know.
