There are so many different "configurations" of wintel systems - apps, registry settings done by third party software, etc. - that getting to a foolproof installation is a hard challenge. As long as the base CPQ product is solid, the general rule of thumb is get the hardware out and get the software available as soon as possible. CPQ is as good as anyone in the business at getting a smooth integrated product to market. The only way to assure a new product concept will seamlessly install is to lag the early entries by six months or so (i.e. let someone else blaze the trail and work the MSFT support issues).

I would be quite comfortable buying a product like this and will probably et one of these - the color scanner is very attractive. I would expect full support for moderately sophisticated users via the web.
