Stitch;
We are concerned here with where is the bottom? What will it be and when will it come? Was yesterday the bottom? I have all kinds of prognostications about the market from private to market analysts. Frankly, I confess that at this point, I don't know what to believe. Some say starting in April the market will show signs of life and some predict the opposite. I feel neutral because I don't have any feeling for it right now. I think if we see a decline in interest rates we will definitely see a rally. Otherwise, its up for grabs. Those who call it right will say "you see, you see, I was right all along." I am trying to stay focused on SEG stock because it often defies the market and logic too, fundamental or technical. Perhaps, we are too focused on the minutiae. Remember though, these guys are traders. Tiny changes in the behavior of the stock (specialist) can signal what will happen tomorrow. When your buying or selling options that can mean a lot. As a long termer I'm in your camp. I haven't changed my mind. However, when it comes to calling a bottom or top tech analysis can be of some help. It doesn't always work but it works pretty well if your diligent. For instance, did you read my post 2 nights ago, on this thread, about calling a top for SEG? A letter to Scott Perry in which I outline an interesting discovery. You may find it interesting too. I don't think I'll be frozen in the headlights again. Calling a top or bottom is perhaps, the most difficult and interesting thing any investor can do when buying or selling. Getting the timing right is a quest I set out on a long time ago. I'm still on that quest. As for the general market, I'm a bit confused.
You mentioned the poor reporting from Shang-Hi. Can you give us some more information at this point? It would be appreciated. PHOTOMAN
