As you know, I am a Christian and have no Jewish blood roots that I know of. My wife and I went to the Holocaust Memorial in Israel. I had, at that time, been a Fireman for 20+ years in a major city and had also been to Nam. As you might expect, I have been witness to a lot of human carnage. I had to harden myself to concentrate on the job at hand or I would have been worse than useless to those I desired to help. I found I would loose my edge and concentration if I empathized too much with the people at the time the emergency was happening, it was OK later.

I must admit, I had a very hard time at the Memorial. I almost broke down and had to leave. I don't EVER want to go back or go to another such Memorial. But please, don't be discouraged to go yourself. I don't regret going at all. We MUST have these Holocaust Memorials to help people understand what happened and what is going on this very day.

I just found that I empathized too much with what those people went through. And why? For what end? I am convinced that there is indeed a Spiritual War going on around us. Satan is out there, even if people do not believe he exists.
