No disrespect intended, but I disagree that day-traders provide ANY value to a market system--and I have heard that "quote" before. There are ample ways to value a stock without people jumping in an out, e.g., price to earnings, price to sales, blah, blah, blah . . . . Daytraders do just the opposite, they reduce liquidity and add volitility thereby reducing certainty.

I have nothing against daytraders, but they are by no means a neccessary evil, they are more of a needless bother.
