From Yahoo: Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM - news) hit a 52-week high this morning, soaring $10.68, or more than 12% to $98 on news of a deal with Ericsson AB (NASDAQ:ERICY - news) , the world's No. 3 mobile phone maker. Under the agreement the companies will share access to each other's technology in an effort to take advantage of an anticipated 700-million customer cell phone market in the next five years. The deal ends a two-year patent clash over the CDMA technology, which will enable cell phone users to get real-time news and hold video conferences 'on the go.' Qualcomm will take an unspecified charge in association with the deal. Shares of Ericsson were up $1.63 to $22.69 in early trading.
