Packers re-sign OL Rivera to three-year contract

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN (TICKER) -- After already losing right guard Adam Timmerman to free agency, the Green Bay Packers today re-signed starting left guard Marco Rivera to a three-year contract.

Terms were not disclosed by the team, but Ralph Cindrich, Rivera's agent, revealed the deal is worth $5.4 million with a signing bonus of $1.75 million.

Rivera, who turns 27 in April, became the starting left guard last year after Aaron Taylor left the Packers and signed as a free agent with San Diego.

A 1996 sixth-round pick out of Penn State, the 6-4, 305-pound Rivera was a reserve and specials teams player in his first two years with the Packers.
