OT Kosovo

Unfortunately the ethic division in Yugoslavia is similar to that found in the Middle East, it goes back hundreds if not thousands of years. Military intervention does not resolve the issues in the middle east, and I believe that it will not resolve them here. Tito's strong dictatorship was able to obscure these ethnic rivalries. Now that there is strong central government, those ethnic forces are unleashed.

While I believe that democracy is the best form of government currently known, simply inserting democracies into a country means it will work. A lot of things have to be in place before a democracy can work. Craters in the countryside does not create the conditions ripe for a functioning democracy.

Also, these are the people that were able to endure German occupation during World War II and fight a successful partisan campaign. Since our president has not able to articulate a plan of what do we do if the bombing doesnt work beyond "we keep bombing." I am worried about what happens when the first U.S. warplane gets shot down. (Im sure he hasnt had time to think one since he is busy doing the business of the american people.)
