HMO's and insurance companies, and soon Medicaid, are quickly moving to preferred (cheaper) drugs, and not paying towards more expensive. I believe they will soon request doctors and patients to move from Premarin to the less expensive Celestin. They already do this all the time, with non equivalent antibiotics, antihypertensives, anti cholesterol meds.
