I wasn't trying to draw the analogy *that* far Neocon! I didnt mean to imply that I thought the Serbs were gonna be jackbooting across Europe at any moment :P.

As far as the analogy goes, the Balkan mess of the past ten years, and the world's inaction, are parrallel to Germany of the '30s. The West has sat on its haunches doing its feeble best to solve intractable problems through diplomacy. The West has up to this point (and the rest of the world still is) relied upon the same diplomatic mistakes of the past: appeasement. Have you read the Pope's statement? "a just and lasting peace"? Have we heard such a statement before? Hmm.

The Russians and the Chinese are still rattling about reaching a diplomatic solution, even when all diplomacy has failed. Its fine to sit back and do nothing but talk while people are being killed, but to act to stop it is a crime and a violation of the UN charter, nothing short of "naked aggression." We acted too late, but once again, once we did act, we are condemned not for our inaction, but for our action. We live in a backwards world my friend.
