It's unfortunate that Germany has conscripts deployed there. However, I have to admit that I have no problem with conscription, and sometimes conscripted forces get deployed to places they don't want to be.

I can guarantee you that few members of the US military "volunteered" to deploy to the Balkans either. Such a deployment hardly meets the criteria of the "It's not just a job, It's an adventure" recruiting posters.... :0)

So while I have my reservations about the current politico-military operations underway, or their long-term ramifications or efficacy, I really can't state that I have much sympathy for conscripted German soldiers not wanting to leave home.

Blame your leaders. They make the decisions.

Soldiers are soldiers and have to do their duties.
