"There is no need for you help Lambda PR." I've been seeing more and more news releases about the Lambda expertise in lithography. I just received a beautiful glossy brochure presenting the new Lambda lithography lasers.

Yes, viewing a glossy brochure can have a mesmerizing and mind numbing effect on certain people. News releases are more important than reality. Lambda's "expertise in lithography" is clearly evidenced by their achievement of getting a laser shipped to and installed at a chip manufacturer in this past quarter after having been in the business of making excimer lasers for a much longer time period than Cymer.

I read posts by Katherine Derbyshire stating that CYMI is at best in a dead heat with Lambda Physik on the 193 nm lasers.

I'm sure Katherine will provide us with some excellent data with respect to the number of ArF lasers shipped, installed base, and who is qualified where. The numbers and facts may surprise you.

Even the summary profile on Yahoo suggests that Lambda is moving confidently into lithography. Lambda certainly does have a good PR
department.

But of course, COHR's Yahoo profile is one of the best ways to judge a company's competence and market position. There is no reason to look at support infrastructure, installed base or anything else. The Yahoo profile of a company reveals all of that in a sentence. Yes, Lambda's PR department is of the highest quality. How else could people get the impression that they are technology leaders in an area in which they have not even participated in? By that I mean, not ONE of their lasers has yet been the light source for a single production IC.

Lambda is moving confidently into lithography

They were in the business long before Cymer, now they've gained confidence? That is very special. I am confident I could become the heavyweight champion of the world with proper training.
