Here's your T&T. I read "The Deer Hunter" and saw the movie. Parts of it were real, and parts were fantasy. The Russian Roulette symbolism was a little strong. I won't see "Born on the Fourth of July." "Platoon" was decent, but unreal in a way. Platoon Sergeants don't hunt and shoot one another. One day Hollywood will wake up and make a realistic movie about VN. Just telling the story without all the political comment and symbolism would be much more dramatic. "Saving Private Ryan" was a great film. Like the man said, "If finding Pvt. Ryan is my mission, and finding Pvt. Ryan earns me the right to go home to my wife and family. Then that's what I'm going to do." NW
