Anguilla Staff
I thought on this installment I would talk about the staff that we met. I haven't done something like this before so if I go off topic and ramble alittle bit sorry in advance.
Medical staff.
The first person that we met were the dialysis nurses Lisa and Jane.
Both these individuals talked to my father with Lisa doing a preliminary workup. Dr Edgar then arrived and reviewed the results and did a physical. She was very nice and made my father comfortable. He was then hooked up to a dialysis machine andthen the procedure began. The dialysis machine that they used was very sophisticated with touch screens that reported all results as they changed. The machines used were significantly more advanced than the one he is on at home. While he was having his treatment there was one other travelling dialysis patient and two permanent dialysis patients being treated.
While the treatments were going on i also met the dialysis technicanwho runs the water system and repairs and maintains the equipment. His name is lennie. Nice guy seemed very knowledgableand certainly was friendly.
During the week that we were there I got a chance to talk to the other dialysis patients . To a person they praised all the staff. I would agree and so would my father. We spent some time talking to other people on the island and heard nothing but good stuff about the medical staff. the one comment that pleased me as a shareholder is that the company has made a significant impact on the island.
The one thing that they did during the procedure was take a blood sample and get an immediate blood chemistry. This is not done at home because we cannot get the results that fast. They have equipment the gives complete blood chemistry results in a couple of minutes. Pretty neat stuff. When I asked why they did the test when the machine gives a constant readout I was told that it a safety factor to confirm the results of the machine. This of course means that they don't have to worry if the machine filters are failing. The machines also do self diagnosis during the procedure. Pretty safe.
Office staff
Didn't really meet them . There was two people that were very busy.
Construction staff
The manager of the project is Brent Platten who is also a director.
I spent some time with him and was impressed with his construction knowledge. He has 8 Anguillans working under him.
Cleaning staff
there are 4 maids and one supervising person who clean all the rooms and the clinics. They were very friendly but sure worked
at the asnails pace. I suspect that this is normal for the island
The general opinion that I can say is that the staff was friendly and do a good job. The medical staff were professional very competent and did a great job . W e will go back especially when all the facilities are finished
I will end this segment and continue the next section tomorrow.
I hope that this has made sense.
