As I read this thread I keep coming upon the comment "my alerts went off". What exactly does this mean? I am sure it has been already addressed, but apparently I missed it. Are these subscription services that traders use to get audible alerts on stocks? Are they necessary to successfully trade? Thanks to all for your answers and help.
