scum bria - Re: " Anyway, Intel had to spend 300 million for PIII marketing, but AMD is getting it for free."

What is AMD getting for free ?

Those law suits will cost AMD $50 million - minimum.

Plus lost time during office file turnovers - when the rookie lawyers show up to remove every file from Jerry, Atiq, Fran Barton, and every other high level managers' office, as well as download their e-mail and all the network-backup copies of old e-mail, all the process engineering reports, the design review reports, depositions from the design guys, the test guys, the design-for-test guys, the "MASK guys", etc.

These law firms will have more lawyers running around AMD than AMD has K7's to peddle to a non-existent customer base.
