Hum ! I'm not sure if we can (or should) make anything of this. I can think of a number of scenarios that may be positive or negative. The market seems to have taken it badly, but I guess the acid test will be what the numbers say in the next few days. On balance I suppose I feel that this is not good - i.e. if the results were good, then it would be easier to announce this as a matter-of-fact statement during the results. On the other hand, if the results are bad then it will be possible to talk about "appropriate action" having already been taken. Both would tend to suggest a bad short term situation. Oh well, let's hope I'm wrong - I usually am.........
