Interesting how the tide of sentiment is turning here. Not too long ago, everyone was backing DW under the belief that he would never pull a stunt like this without a better offer in his back pocket. Now that a few weeks have gone by, without a competing offer and with the stock floundering for lack of direction on lcos, people are doubting whether there was anything behind DW's posturing or it was just another failed gambit.

A good point is made by noting that if DW doesn't have a white knight, then his posturing could impact CMGI's future when buyers fear dealing with him given that his support is unreliable.

I still find it difficult to believe that this was nothing more than empty posturing, and that DW doesn't have an alternative. If that were the case, his gambit was foolhearty. But its only been a few short weeks, and there is time (an eternity in internet time) for DW to present a better alternative. We shall certainly see what, if anything, he comes up with.
