Fred, a good summary, but your number 4, IMHO, was not only "corporate arrogance" I believe it was a strategic mistake. VLNC had the opportunity to walk before it runs, and no VLNC is according to you getting to from a full stop to full speed without intermediary tests in the market place. That might come back and haunt VLNC.
