NP says Infowave Software one example of B.C. gem

The National Post reports in its Friday edition that this week, Campney
and Murphy, a Vancouver law firm that acts for many publicly traded
companies, gathered 18 small-cap firms and had them tell their stories
to investors, analysts and brokers. The stories debunk the B.C. image
to a degree. These ambitious companies, while based in British
Columbia, are able to generate growing revenues from elsewhere in
North America and abroad. One growing technology company whose
stock is under pressure is 15-year-old Infowave Software Inc., which
makes printer driver software for Apple computers and software for
wireless computer communications applications. The stock has a
52-week range of $3.50-82 cents. The company almost tripled its sales
last year to $14.7-million but lost $1.8-million. However, the loss was
down from a year earlier and the fourth quarter was profitable. Jim
McIntosh, the firm 's president, projects a 40-per-cent revenue increase
and profitability this year.
