Jason, I too was concerned for quite awhile about the JavaOS threat to WIND but have concluded that it is not much of a threat and perhaps more of an opportunity. There was an article in the October 28, 1996 issue of the EETimes which you should take a look at. Go to www.techweb.com and search on "embedded AND Java". This should turn up an article entitled "Designers see key role for language but point to weaknesses regarding use -- Java challenges embedded-systems world"

In particular look near the end of the article at the section entitled "No Prediction".
