The thing that throw me off is that they mentioned that acquired something from Nippon Steel, and if memory serves, they were in the raw wafers side of the business not the fabs, so it implies that UMC is making their own wafers? I know that WFR has a joint venture with someone in Taiwan (Taifil or something), but had no ideas that UMC was competing with WFR. Frankly, I am utterly confused. Maybe olduvai can come back and clarify some of this. Zeev
