Now lets jump ahead 5-10 years. Cable is now all digital, the number of available channels has increased, the number of ISV's has decreased via normal industry consolidation, and the public is demanding more internet access and less garbage TV. Pure fiber is only available in newer planned communities.

OK, I know this is a but of a stretch and a lot of speculation. But I think if this is the road we are heading down, allocation of separate channels to one or more ISV's would be possible. This would allow multiple access without redesigning the communications protocols. Now T, and the MSO's become the solution providers rather then the problem (in the public eyes).

Would it work?
