the idea that these are distinct business segments and will remain so (emphasis here on price) is not a good one ... businesses with declining earnings will not pay an expanding premium for its PCs -- given no other option they will defer purchases or cross the lines -- too early to tell yet, but this may be what we are seeing now. An expanding premium (price of business PCs over consumer/retail) is exactly what you have to postulate in order for DELL to come close to keeping its revenue growth and growth in margins. Not gonna happen ...
