Paul - I bought a 366 celeron based CPQ presario machine for my daughter who is a student at CMU and needed something to do software development. This came with 4MB ATI rage video, 32x CD, 64MB RAM, 8GB disk, 56k modem, 1394 firewire and ethernet built in, and lots of SW goodies. I paid $560 for this box. This is not a tinker toy or a feature limited system. If you think that these are simply "first time user" machines, think again.
