Anaxagoras, re. Cliff, I didn't search Nexis for his name.

So far it appears that the material included in the management biographies on 1st Net's web page are accurate. There is a little hyperbole, but for the most part what is presented is accurate. Which is not to say that it is complete. The ugly parts of the biographies, like the securities fraud violations, are simply omitted.

Regarding Cliff, his biography shows that he has worked in hotels since he was a teenager and then suddenly found himself running an internet company, one with a market cap of about $36 M. The story sounds a little unlikely, but I don't doubt that it is true. I doubt if the guy shares his colleagues' record of securities fraud.

Here's his biography:

Clifford J. Smith, 39, is the President and a Director of the Company. Previously, Mr. Smith worked for over 20 years in the hotel, food and beverage industries, holding various positions in different levels of hotel and restaurant management. Mr. Smith brings proven experience from a 20-year career with both Hilton Hotels and the Marriott Corporation where he was responsible for the organization and opening of six hotels around the country as well as serving in several executive positions within the two hotel conglomerates. He brings excellent organizational and operational skills to the Company and has played a key role in the current augmentation of 1st Net.
