Wigglesworth, let me try the logic this way. Suppose we suddenly redefine a foot to contain 24 standard inches rather than 12. A person 6 feet tall suddenly finds himself 3 feet tall. But in actuality he is no shorter. It is simply the convention used to define his height.

The same is true of a change in SEC-mandated accounting. The change in NETA's reported earnings in no way changes its true profitability. Only the metric that the SEC allows has changed. Taken in that context, Larson's willingness to cut costs <because of the change in accounting conventions disturbs me. I don't know how to make it any simpler.
