All- Nextel appears up on takeover speculation...

It appears Ericcson's recent acquisition of Qualcomm's wireless division has reignited the storied takeover of Nextel. Like other takeover rumors, Nextel for years has been a rumored takeover target, but it never materialized.

As the last independent wireless holdout, consolidation in the telecommunications sector and Ericcson's latest move, I am thinking about getting some of these shares. Like Fore and Pair, in order to remain competitive these companies have to hook up or die... big, rich, global telecomm providers in extended battle and these little guys will just end up as fodder as they are running out of juice.

Anyone else thinking about picking up some Nextel?

Just my opinion.

Jon :)
