Spider, You have got a thought processing problem. What would make you think Brazil, would deny anyone a export license. Brazil is as we say broke. In need of cash so to say. For Brazil to get foreign dollars, they have to export. What has put this country in the condition it is in is that what Brazil was exporting in the past, no one wanted.
For Brazil to grow - financially - it has to export. So what makes you think getting a 2 bit license is a big deal to export herbs. Who do you think controls the herb export license market in the Brazil gov. MERK!.
As far a Madera paying the Brazil gov for cutting down trees on Madera own private land. Its called impuesto, or levy fee. Malaysia, China and many other wood cutters have to pay this fee. The value of this fee depends on the ownership of the landand type of tree. If it is state land, or reservation land, the fee is very high depending on the type of tree.
What is your problem, are you trying to protect some investment in another company which may/or may not be exporting herbs from Brazil. You are not going to stop Madera in it tracks with you need for information. I have a very close relationship with Madera, and if I thought there was a legal problem which would cause a future problem I would contact Madera.
It appears to me, you are the only one wanting to know what it cost to make a herb product. Well its going to cost a little less than what Madera will sell it for. If it does not make money, I have suggested to Madera to IPO the herb operation.
