As if 3D needed another competitor... news.com IBM is jumping into the fray at the higher end designing a new 256bit AGP graphics chip for Diamond's upcoming FireGL 1 board. Targeted at the workstation market so not a direct competitor but limits the upmarketability of any plans 3dfx may have with Rampage. Personally, I expect that IBM will not last in this segment due to relatively low ROE compared to its software and services business. Obewon
