Here are probably the first credible benchmarks for V3 performance I've seen. The drivers probably still need a little more tweaking, but I think they are getting pretty close.

Unfortunately, they didn't run the Quake2 tests in 1280x1024 or higher resolutions. Not sure why. The 3DBenchmark tests include the 1280x1024 rez.

One reasonable question to ask is "Is the 3500 worth the extra money?" On these charts the performance improvement over the 3000 appears minimal. However, I suspect that at the lower resolutions they used, the test was CPU limited. I bet that at 1280x1024 and higher resolutions, the 3500 pulls away.
